Beijing, China

So finallly I have managed to gather a few of the photos I have taken on our trip so far and added them to my blog yipeee! Sorry about the wait, but with bad internet connections this side of the world it can be pretty challenging! So starting with Beijing...where do I start?? Well firstly this part of the trip was very special as my boyfriend proposed on bended knee on the Emperors walkway in the Forbidden City!! So that started the trip off on a very exciting note :) :) Beijing as a city is definately the most different city I have been to where as a tourist you stick out a mile away and we kept on getting so many stares from the local people! Beautiful buildings abound and the Forbidden City was awesome and huge! The Temple of Heaven was also so ornate and I couldn't stop clicking away! The cuisine was ahem different as we were expecting (check out the creepy crawlies on offer at the night market below!) and their customs and way of life were nothing like I had ever experienced which was just great! I LOVE learning about other cultures and seeing different things! we also enjoyed a Chinese acrobatic show and went to visit the Pandas (aah) and then of course there was the Great Wall - shoo what a hike but soo worth it! Below are just a selection of my Beijing photos, I hope you enjoy them!

Off to Asia!

After spending 7 1/2 fantastic years in the UK, my boyfriend and I have decided to make the beeeg move home to the sunny shores of South Africa! Before we go though we are taking 2 months to travel to China, Thailand and Vietnam!! Happy happy smiley faces!! So as we go along I will try my very best to update my blog with some hopefully pretty photos of the amazing places we see and people we meet, so do keep checking in from time to time! In the meantime if you still need to contact me I will be checking my emails (whenever I find a decent wi-fi spot in our backpackers!) Take care and see you all on the flipside!

Glam London Hen Party

'London Hen party' and the word 'glam' don't usually go together, however this particular London Hen party which was held at the 'Rock & Rose' Restaurant in Richmond, oozed of glamour and class! Gaby Frescura, the very talented and awesome editor of the well known Cape Weddings blog 'Cap Classique' organised this amazing party for her best friend, Heidi who is soon to be married. Gaby organised everything from personalised chocolates, wine bottles and gorgeous decor to a great wine & chocolate tasting session for all the girls. I personally just adore attention to detail and pretty things, and so was overjoyed when I saw all Gaby's stunning creations and little touches which added to the already cool and funky decor of Rock & Rose. For more details on the hen party check out Cap Classique blog - you will be hooked!!
