Vietnamese countryside just outside Hanoi

Wow the Vietnamese countryside is just stunning! We based ourselves in Hanoi for a few days which was a pretty mad city filled with families all commuting on scooters. The scooters don't stop at pedestrian crossings so we just had to learn very quickly how to dodge between them! Feeling like a more relaxing alternative we went on a day trip about two hours away from Hanoi where we enjoyed  an amazing boat ride past the rice paddies and beautiful limestone cliffs. We even got to see a few old temples along the way and once again the water buffalo made an appearance, this time with a Vietnamese man riding on top! As you can see I was loving the traditional hats, so Vietnam!
